300 a Week, Goals & Menu.

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Well I didn’t get this posted last week by the time I got to a point where I could get it done it was already Wednesday so I decided I would just combine it with this weeks.

The weather has been pretty nice (way to warm for this time of year) we have had a few days of rain and snow but it warms right back up. Some of the mud is even drying up.

I am super excited and so proud, Joleen is now on the EMT side. She has been certified for almost a year now but at our hospital you have to be 21 to work as an EMT so she has been working in the ER as a Tech and ward clerk. Well the head EMTs took it to the board again (they tried when she first got her certification) and with the recommendations from the ER and her reputation in the ER they went ahead and let her move over. She will be the youngest that they have ever had. Not to brag (well maybe a little) she knows her stuff and they really wanted her. She has worked so hard for this.

Saturday before last we went to the Southwestern cattlemen’s Association meetings and Banquet. I always enjoy going to these, during the meetings we learn so much about what is going on in the county, state and nation. And the banquet is always a good time. Have a good steak dinner, get to see people you don’t see very often and dance to a good band. They have a silent auction every year this year we bid on and got a ton of coal and a cow hide.

I know a cow hide? I have been wanting a big one for ever but they run over 500 dollars and I could never justify that. Well they had a huge one in the action I got it for 210 dollars a lot, but I will never find one for that cheap again. I can’t wait to get it hung on the wall.

This last Saturday we had a bunch of people over to play music had a real good turnout, going to try and do it again in three weeks.

Got all my house deep cleaned except my bathroom and hopefully that will happen this week. Nothing like having company to make you get your house cleaned haha (let’s see if I can keep it that away). I even did a bunch of redecorating.

Andy did get two windows framed out yah 🙂  now to get the rest done and all the trim work that needs to be done :).

300 a Month

Weekend before last I didn’t spend anything, makes it easy not to spend if you don’t go the store. This last week though different story. Since we had company I had to get stuff for snacks. I got chips, sour cream, green chili dip, summer sausage, cheese, crackers, sliced jalapenos, loaf of wheat bread, cheese dip (which I ended up not using), some donuts and brownie bits that were on clearance sale for valentines, macaroni pasta that was on sale for 50 cents, vegetable oil, chia tea bags ( have got to get some concentrate made), eggs 60 ct. ( will be so glad when I can get chickens again),trash bags, tea bags, and 4 boxes of peeps ( saw a recipe like rice crispy treats I want to try).

So I spent 75.12 Next time I need to make more stuff at home instead of buying all this snacky stuff.

So I had 31.77 that I have already spent this month and add the 75.12 for a total of 106.89 so far this month. Add that to the 226.02 for the year and that gives me 332.91spent for the year so far.

This leaves me with 193.11 for the month and 3267.09 for the year.

Goals

Well I didn’t get much anything else done with trying to get the house ready for company. So for this week here is what I would like to get done.

Kitchen

I want to make the rice crispy treats that I mentioned above. Get bread made (I know I still haven’t got this done). I would like to put together a few crockpot meals for us and some for the girls if I get a chance.

Sewing table

Still need to get a zipper in Andy’s coveralls, I also want to start mending some of his pants (which I put off for forever because I hate doing this) I have a whole tote full that needs to be done. And I need to work on Katies quilt which got shoved to the back burner. I found a small fold up table that will fit behind my couch that I want to use to put my sewing machine on to get it off the table. I think if I do this it will be a little easier to get some sewing done

Fiber art

I want to do some more work on my afghan and finish Joleens hat.

Daycare

We had a valentines party on valentines, they decorated some bags I got for valentines then I had them bring signed but not addressed valentines to put in them, we had snacks and stories and did some activities they all had fun. This week we are on the color red, the letter L, and Jonah.

Way to go, Joleen! You are right to be very proud of her; an EMT has to be very skillful and cool under pressure, and quite knowledgeable about a lot of areas. I’ll bet she’s gotten some great experience and contacts working in the ER, too.
Your cow hide is beautiful! I had no idea they are so expensive. When we lived overseas our landlord had a couple of small ones in our apartment. Now I feel like they were treating us special!
