Getting Honey

I love getting honey here, There is a local family that have bees (a lot of bees) they sale honey at the farmers market, but once a year they have a huge sale and sell for a little cheaper, and you bring your own containers. there is everything from 5 gallon buckets to pint jars , some people get a lot and some just a little.

This was the line a little after we got there by the time we left it was way longer. It took us about 3 hours to get honey from when we got there and got in line till we left. Completely worth it though.

This is when we got into the building.

People getting their honey you can see n the back ground how they are pouring it into jars.

Here is a little better picture of the honey pouring out. They have two spouts that they pour from. The honey is a little warm to help it pour easily.

This is the vat that they pour from, there is a larger container in the back that the honey comes from into this.

It would be interesting to know just how much honey they process a season. With all the people that were there that day some with up to 6, 5 gallon buckets in addition to what they sale at the farmers market. All I know though, is it is a LOT of honey.

Love Honey. I get as much as I can from the little farm that I am trading with these days and it is delicious. I’m using for allergies as well. My dad was a beekeeper and we always had 5 gal. square cans around.
