300 a Month, Goals, and Menu

Another busy weekend, we went the fire department banquet as always a way good time. Had steak and shrimp which was yummy yummy. This was the first year in a very long time that we had a call during the banquet just as they started the awards, so several of the guys responded, it kind of cut into the awards but some of the wives accepted some of the awards and we waited till they got back to do some of them. It was so much fun and so nice to all get-together and visit. After the dinner and awards we have a dance and just hang out good times. They always do a slideshow of some of the calls that they respond to during the year, there are some really cool pictures so I am going to do a separate post on them so I can share some of them.

We got the heifers in the corrals, it is almost time to start calving. Seems as soon as that starts it just stays busy until next winter. It is always fun to see the new babies though.

It has been a little chilly here lately and we did get a couple little snow storms didn’t really leave much snow on the ground but hopefully the mountains got some Ugh, I am still not 100% over whatever bug I had seems like I am just tired all the time and I really don’t have time to be tired. Had to take little bit ( the kid goat) to the sale barn he kept getting out and was eating the bark off some of the trees I am hoping he didn’t kill any of them but I have one that I am not too sure about.

Been busy with fair stuff I did get a Facebook page set up and may have a band lined up and a few things set up for kids day.

300 a Month

I didn’t do to bad on the spending this week, I got 150 pounds of wheat for 30.00, Cheese was on sale for 2.50 a pound so I got 20 pounds I also found some mushrooms on clearance sale and got 12 pounds Also got a couple loves of sliced bread for the kids’ sandwiches, some frozen broccoli and cauliflower and some bananas. So I spent 103.80 this week add it to the months total of 31.29 for 135.09 for the month. That leaves me with 164.91 for the month and it leaves me 3325.34 for the year.

Goals

Well that hasn’t worked out all that well for me this past week I am still dragging a little from being sick and with the fair board stuff, I didn’t get near done what I had wanted. Oh well, a new week and another chance.

Kitchen

Last weeks goals
I need to get the potatoes finished up so I am wanting to can some green chili soup, beef vegetable soup and a base for potato soup.
I have started making bread again and I want to get a sourdough starter started this week.

Did not get one thing of this done so it is back on the list for this week. I also need to can the mushrooms.

Sewing table

Last weeks goals
I am wanting to work on Katie and Joleen’s quilts. I have the top done for Katie’s and some of Joleen’s cut out so I want to get the rest cut out and get started putting it together. I really want to hurry and get these done so I can start on a brand quilt, I have been wanting to do one for years and I am thinking with my new circuit I can use it to help cut on the brands for the quilt.

I did get the quilt fabric pulled out and I had thought I had all of Katie’s top done no ( that would have been to easy) I have a lot of it put together but still a lot to do so I will try to continue working on that this week.

Fiber Arts

Last weeks Goals
I am working on a crocheted rope basket which I need to work on and get finished but I am wanting to start making some cotton washcloth to sell so I will just have to see which one I want to do this week. I also want to do some spinning I have been doing a little but not enough to get good at it yet.
I didn’t get any work done on the basket but I did get everything together to start making wash clothes so hoping to get started on those this week.

Yard work

Last weeks goals
If I have a little bit of nice weather when I can get out I want to get my herb garden area cleaned and start getting it doable for next year. Last year I didn’t get much done with it so it is a little overgrown and needs a lot of attention.
The weather has been pretty ugly so I didn’t even get outside hoping it will be a little nicer this week and I can get out and work a little.

Fitness
Last weeks goals
I stopped my workouts a few months ago ( which was stupid because I have to start back at square one now) I am going to start doing these again.
I did get started working out again I hate starting back st the beginning ugh I am so out of shape. I really think the warmups should count as a work out haha.
I am wanting to also start doing 30 minutes on the treadmill in addition to the workouts. My goal is to be fit enough to go to the gym with Joleen this summer when Skylar is gone and not completely embarrass her or myself.

Music

Last week

I didn’t have any guitar lessons in December and January so trying to get back on track with practicing I am so bad once I get out of the habit I have such a hard time getting back into it.
Just started practicing again kind of like the workouts I hate starting all over my poor fingers have lost all their callouses so it doesn’t take long to get sore. Hopefully, I can get them built up soon.
