200 a Month, Goals, & Menu

A few weeks ago when I was at the store a lady had her baby in a cradleboard. It has been a really long time since I have seen someone using one. I asked her if I could take a picture. I am hoping in a few weeks to do a post on Indian cradleboards.

I didn’t get this posted last week, I had a long weekend last week for MLK day so I decided to do some painting and rearranging around the house. So come Monday I was still in the middle of everything so I spent the day trying to get things ready for kids the next day.

Monday before last I had a fair board meeting we actually got out a little earlier then normal I was home by 10.

Got a couple seed catalogs in the mail so trying to decide what all I am going to plant this year. I am wanting to do more and a few things that I haven’t grown yet. I think I am starting to get spring fever.

Really haven’t had a lot going on this past couple weeks so just been working on the house.

200 a Month

I had to run to town Saturday before last so went to WM and picked up a couple things, I got butter, tea, cashews, bread, stevia, and bleach. I spent 15.04. I didn’t even go to town this past weekend so I didn’t spend anything. Add the 15.04 to the 110.37 for the month for a total of 125.41 for the month. That leaves me 74.59 for the month and 2274.59 for the year.

Goals,

Kitchen,

I got the cauliflower and lemons fermenting.
This week I need to finish up the oranges, grapefruits and the last little bit of apples. I didn’t get a whole lot done since I was working on the house most for of the week.

Sewing,

This week I need to do some mending and I would like to make some bags out of feed sacks.

Fiber Arts,

I worked some on Joleens afaghan this week. Would like to get it finished this week. Joleen got me a knitting machine for Christmas ( it came from Germany so I just got it a couple weeks ago) so wanting to play around with that this week.

Miscellaneous,

I want to get some beeswax wraps made. And another batch of soap made. I want to start making swirl soaps which I haven’t ever done before. Also, need to get a batch of deodorant made.

I also need to do some work on the SW Farm to Fiber page.

Fitness,

I have worked out every day except last Thursday and Friday. The little ones have all been sick so I decided I needed to get it so Thursday and Friday I didn’t do much of anything.

Daycare,

I am starting lessons again so I need to get next month planned out.

What I am reading,

I am reading Siege of Stone by Terry Goodkind ( he is one of my favorite fiction writers) been waiting almost a year for this to come out.

Fair,

I need to finish or at least get close to finishing up the web page, I also need to get a list made for kids day and I am wanting to put a list together of different classes and demonstrations to have.

Seems I do buy a lot of vegetables and fruit.

I also added to the Deep Pantry several items to fill in some holes.

I GREATLY suggest everyone start sorting items you may need.
A perfect example is the Polar Vortex that is hitting the eastern states.

      NRP,
Doing good, When you have a deep pantry you almost don’t need to buy much more than fresh fruits and veggies.
Very good suggestion about figuring out what you need now before you need it.

Greetings from Niagara Falls Ontario! We have a national bulk store chain “Bulk Barn” that in addition to weekly/biweekly sales, often has coupons for $3.00 off any purchase of $10.00 or more per visit/transaction. The coupons are in the flyer and sent to your cell phone. When oatmeal was featured in the panty challenge, BB had it on sale, and had the coupon. So, the regular price of all varieties of oatmeal is .95/lb, it was on sale for .80/lb, plus the coupon meant that I got 12.5 pounds of oatmeal for $7.00 making it .56/lb. One more trip (with hubby buying on separate transactions) and I am thrilled to have 50lb of oatmeal for the pantry with a total cost of $28.
Thanks so much for sharing the deep pantry challenge – it prompted me to focus better than I had been. Best wishes!

      Toni,
That is so cool, I wish we had something like that. Haha I also send hubby to shop the sales, especially when there is a limit to get more.
It does feel good when you have a deep pantry and you know you are ready for most anything.
      Have a great day

    Ok, finished out January with a quick stop at Sam’s Cub;
    Nectarines 5#
    Oranges 8#
    Bananas 3#
    Avocado 5ct
    total cost of $19.84
So for the year I feel mighty good at $162.29 for the first month
Total Remaining $2,237.71 for the year, I’m sure I’m not going to keep it up, but a good start.

      NRP,
Doing good, like you said in your last comment it helps if you don’t go to the store. This time of year isn’t too hard it is when all the fresh veggies and fruit start coming off and all the “good” sales hit haha.
