Our voluntary Sunflower that grew in our garden. It is over 8 feet tall, I will be saving the seeds from it.

On Friday I got off early on Friday so I was able to go with Andy to take one of our Bulls to the vet. Then after I went on into town. I have been wanting to go to several 2nd hand store but haven’t had the time so that is what I did. I found a lot of good stuff haha. I have been wanting to put a chandelier in my dining-room or a while now well I found one it was 20 dollars but they had a sale going on so I got it for 5 dollars (woohoo) It is gold but I am going to paint it black. I also found a bunch of flat sheets that I will dye light gray to make cushion covers for my patio furniture. Found 4 throw pillows in reds and greens and 4 crocheted afghans in whites and off whites that I will use outside with the patio furniture when I start to decorate it for fall.  A bread maker ( I am wanting several then when I start selling bread I can use them to mix the dough so I am not spending all day on it.).  A large wicker basket to replace the one I am using for my onions and potatoes. anda couple little odds and ends I only spent 20 dollars for all that pretty good if I say so myself haha.

Had a busy weekend but good. On Saturday I had lunch with a couple of friends I haven’t seen since 8th grade. We found each other on Facebook. One of them was my best friend in middle school. The summer after 8th grade  my parents divorced and my Mom took us to California and we couldn’t tell anyone ( my Dad didn’t even know where we were for a year, pretty messed up) anyway she had no idea what had even happened to me and since there was no social media back then I had no way to get ahold of her. I had been looking for her but she was using her married name so I never could find her. Well, she found me woo hoo ( I have my maiden name on my FB ). We have talked on the phone a couple of times and she came up form Kirtland to go to lunch. And come to find out another friend from middle school lives here so he came to lunch also. It was great being able to connect again. We plan on making this a monthly event.

On Sunday we started cleaning out and rearranging and moving stuff in one of the sheds. We moved a bunch of stuff to another shed that isn’t as close to the house to make room for all the daycare stuff and my crafts that are taking up a whole room. I am wanting to get a spare room put together again so when we have people visit they can stay in the house instead of having to stay in the camper since staying in the camper during the winter isn’t really doable. Now I need to get in there and organize what is still in there and set up some shelves for all the stuff I want to put in it.

Week Goals

I am hoping I can get all this done since Tuesday evening I have a meeting, Wednesday evening or fire dept will host a 911 stair climb so I will be helping with that. And on Wednesdays, my Aunt has been coming and helping with the kids so I can get some other stuff done, but this Wednesday she won’t be able to come :(.

I bought another case of peaches but will have to wait for them to ripen before I can do anything with them hoping they will be ready towards the end of the week so I can get them canned before the weekend. I also bought 41/2 pounds of blueberries I need to can. We picked a large bucket of cucumbers, a large box of bell peppers, and a whole lot of zucchini, and  I have several onions leftover for the music festival that need to be that taken care of. So I will be working on those this week. I still haven’t got the Kombucha started have got to get that done this week. I have to take a dessert and a side dish to the 9-11 stair climb at the fire dept. Thinking a macaroni salad and haven’t decided on a dessert yet. I do want to make a couple of zucchini apple pies for Andy to take to work I try every year to send a couple with him for his co-workers. I also have a lot of cream I need to get made into butter. And a bunch of eggs that I need to coat with mineral oil for storage.

I got my fall pillow covers started and want to finish them up this week.

I was able to work on washcloths a couple of nights this week want to continue working on these

    Rancher’s Wife;
    Honestly Connie, I love reading your BLOG, it always brings a smile to me, and with all the nasty bad stuff going on in the Country and World it’s GREAT to see good people doing good things.
    Please keep up the good/great work.

    Kombucha, God’s gift to the Tea Drinker….. I have had a Scobe going for years and years, keep cutting it back and into pieces, Ol Blue loves it for some reason.

    Zucchini apple pies huh??? Sounds interesting, and considering I’v ½ tone of zucchini piling up……

    PS; No wonder that Sunflower is growing like a weed, look at that River you have flowing to it… HAHAHAHA
