I love this recipe it has an added ingredient that most pumpkin pie spices don’t have, Cardamon. I know cardamon is a little pricey so if you don’t have any don’t worry just omit it. The blend will still be way good. Making your own is way cheaper than buying it at the store and I think way way better.
My homemade mix is almost exactly the same.
I do use only ‘Whole’ Spices, they store a lot Lot LOT longer.
Most I get on Amazon by the pound, again a LOT cheaper that way, stick em in a Mason Jar and vac-pack them… good for years and years.
I have a really tough Coffee Grinder to grind the spices, nada better than fresh ground Spice.
NRP,
I love the idea of using whole spices yum. I bet it tastes way way better and way cheaper may have to try this.
Thanks for sharing your mix recipe. I like the idea of using whole spices, too. It just makes sense that they would taste fresher and last longer.
Donna,
I agree, the idea of using fresh spices sounds so much better.
Have a great day
Connie
Thanks for sharing this. I love making my own spice blends versus buying them and having all the added stuff.
Super idea, I just bought a huge container of cinnamon—and I’m going to make some tomorrow! ! Thanks for the great idea!
Thank you for this I live in Australia & can’t easily access ready made Pumpkin Pie Spice mix, now I can make my own! This is rather exciting!
You’re welcome to join me in a cuppa,
Blessings,
Jennifer
