Week Review and Goals

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Had a very busy week working, I have a couple of new kids that just started so letting them get used to things and adjusting took a lot of my time this week. By the time they all left I was beat so didn’t get much done in the evenings.

Last Saturday Katie wanted us to go to Farmington to look at a pickup she has been looking at. She is wanting to upgrade from her car to a pickup since she is starting to have a few issues with her car. She has been looking for almost a year now for the one she wanted.  She found a 2014  F150 in excellent shape with only a few more miles then what her car had. It was very well taken care of and super clean even the engine. She went ahead and got it. She will be paying a little more monthly but she got the 3-year bumper to bumper warranty so if there is an issue it will be taken care of, unlike her car where the warranty had expired. Now maybe she won’t get stuck in her driveway when it snows lol. It hadn’t gone through the inspection yet so she has to wait to get it and that will depend on if they have to fix anything but she is hoping by this weekend to go pick it up.

While we were in Farmington we went to Boot Barn and got me a new pair of boots ( which I badly needed) They were my Birthday present but we just haven’t been able to get anywhere to get them. it will be nice to have a good pair of dress boots again instead of trying to polish up the ones I have now to go somewhere, ( Boots are about the only shoe I wear).

Sunday I wasn’t feeling very good so I didn’t get much done except getting the house cleaned and ready for the week.

I wasn’t able to get anything done last week. As I mentioned above by the time the kids left I was pretty much done for the day. So pretty much the same goals as last week. We do have company coming next weekend so I will have to get ready for that, I need to get the camper cleaned out so they can stay in it. Andy and his band will be playing a dance next Saturday night so I won’t be getting much done this next weekend.

We did get the stained glass of our brand that I got Andy for Christmas hung up. I absolutely love it. A friend of mine’s Mom is learning how to do stained glass so she gave me a really good deal on this. And one and one for Joleen and one for Katie they turned out great and I love them.

Goals

Kitchen,

I need to work on potatoes I want to freeze and can them, I also have some apples, oranges, grapefruit, onions, and cranberries I need to get worked up.

I also want to start making all my bread again, I need to also make a cake and some muffins for the week.

Sewing

I haven’t got much sewing done lately I do have some mending I need to try and get done. I also want to make some new curtains for my kitchen and some covers for my throw pillows in the living room.

Fiber Arts

I made a small girls vest last month and I want to make some more and maybe try to sell a few they are super cute and pretty easy to make. Still working on washcloths, I gave several away with soaps this Christmas.

Fitness

I did get up early every morning and workout.

I am starting a new fitness program and will be trying to work out every day. I am also starting Intermittent fasting with a little keto. I need to be in a little better shape and a little thinner by July for Joleen’s wedding. I need to lose 50 pounds and a few sizes.

Daycare

I did get most of this done but still need the last week put together.

I am starting a new lesson plan geared towards younger kids. I want to get the whole month’s lessons and all the craft materials put together.

Extra Business

I still haven’t gotten my food handlers permit so hoping to get on that soon.

What I am reading

I haven’t had time to do any reading.

Yard

Most everything is covered in snow but I do have a few bags of used coffee grounds that I want to spread in my raised beds.

What are your goals for the week?

Goals for the week…. Firewood, LOTS of firewood.

I’m doing everything I can to not burn any Propane for heat this winter, so far so good, but the two wood stoves sure burn a lot of wood…

I finished up my 8’X16’ garden shed, so some of the goals are to move the Garden “stuff” actual into the Garden area/shed. Going to be a long process for sure.

Other items. Made/Started 2 gallons of Kimchee and 4 gallons of Kombucha. FYI Fermented foods are really REALLY good for ya.

Got/getting back into Sourdough Bread, first loaf from a new Starter coming up in a few days…. YUMMMMMM

Also made 3 gallons of Hungarian Mushroom Soup, froze a bunch and pigged out on some. Again, I LOVE my cooking HAHAHAHA

Last, I finished the Financial Plan on the long awaited Retirement date, end of April, I can’t wait….. Way to many things to do wasting time working.
