Frugal Fridays- Make your own Mug Cakes

Mug Cakes

Ok, I love the idea of mug cakes just a small bit of cake when you want something a little sweet. Although I don’t want to have to get out numerous items to make it if I am going to do that I might as well make a regular sized cake. This takes most of the work out of your mug cakes and you have a mix already put together so you can just open a jar and make a cake. What could be better? You can make any flavor you want. You can add little things to spice up your cake such as mini chocolate chips in a white or chocolate cake sprinkles in a white cake, nuts, or little candies. You can top them with lots of things frosting, syrup, fruit, or chocolate, sprinkles, just whatever you think.

These couldn’t be easier you need a regular cake mix whatever flavor you want and a box of angel food cake.

In a bowl mix, your two cake mixes together make sure they are well mixed. If you are using chocolate cake mix it will be diluted by the angel food cake mix so if you want a little more chocolate flavor just add 1/4 to ½ cup of cocoa ( this is optional ).

After mixed put in a jar.

Then when you want to use just add 3 Tablespoons of the mix ( if adding add-ins add now) in a microwave-safe cup and add 2 Tablespoons of water or milk stir well.

Microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute ( depending on your microwave). I do recommend spraying your mug with a spray oil ( I use coconut spray oil) you don’t have to but it does help with clean up.

When done you can top with whatever topping you choose. Super easy and really yummy.
