His & Hers Gardens

Well as my brother said he has heard of His & Her bank accounts but never his and her gardens haha. And the joke has been to see who has the better garden.

Well, Andy always has his garden and it always does pretty well some years better than others. But I wanted my own little area with some raised beds a potting table maybe a couple of chairs basically a cute little area. So we got the raised beds put together and a fence around it.

I planted the beds. and have the starts to the potting table. That is as far as I got so hoping this fall I can put the finishing touches on it and paint the fences.

So here is his in the first of June

We got it all planted and on the 23rd of June we had a freeze and it set everything back about a month.

And here is mine

Well as bad as I hate to admit it his is doing way better than mine. I had added a few things to my dirt but not enough. I fertilized but not enough. So next year I will redo the soil and hopefully have a little better crop. But as you can see from the pictures his isn’t doing as good as in previous years. We will be moving it next year to a different spot to see if it helps any

Some of his tomatoes look like they are getting blight but it is weird because it is just some plants. And the really strange thing about it is everyone you talk to is having the same problem.

And the voluntary Sunflower that came up in Andy’s garden it is over 10 feet tall and the base is a couple of inches around it is huge. I will be saving the seeds from it for next year.

So that is our gardens this year. I am really hoping to get a couple of greenhouses put in this fall so we have a little longer growing season.
