Week in Review, Menu, Goals

I can not believe it is already the first day of fall, where did the summer go. On Friday night it got down to 31 and froze our garden, not real bad but got the tops of everything. Really hoping it will go ahead and finish the tomatoes that still need to grow a little and ripen. I picked most of the peppers and left the small ones hoping they too will grow a little more. Also picked all the ripe and almost ripe tomatoes I may have enough to do two batches of Rotel. We have only had almost three months between freezes. Really need to get a greenhouse put together. That may have to get a whole lot closer to the top of the priority list.

I spent most of the week getting ready for the company. I had to get the camper cleaned out and ready for them to use. And  I gave the house a good top to bottom cleaning. Andy also got a little more trim put up in the house little by little we will get it all up.

We had some friends come in Friday night and stay the weekend one couple from Fruita and another from Farmington. Friday night I made Navajo tacos then the guys played music till 1:00 the next morning. Katie and her friend came out to eat they stayed a while and visited. Then Saturday morning Andy made biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, bacon, and, sausage. Was good as always when he fixes breakfast. After we ate the 6 of went to the Anazia Heritage Center. None of us ha ever been, it was great I will have a post on it in a few days.

After that, us girls ran to town and even found a yard sale to go to. I found a playpen ( which I have been needing for a while now) for ten dollars. Then we went to a new Mexican food market that just opened up a couple of months ago, it was great I will be going back.

When we got back from town we went to the grange hall to get set up for the dance. That took a few hours when they finished setting up we went and got a late lunch then came back to the house to get ready to go back and play the dance.

The dance was good. They are trying to bring back the grange so they have done a little work to it and are trying to have functions in it. They are going to do dances at least once a month which I think is great since they are family-friendly. and start at 7 and are over at 11. There were all ages from 8 months to way older.

It was almost midnight by the time we gat all broke down and back to the house. One couple went ahead and headed back to Farmington since she had to work the next day. So the four of us came back to the house and visited till  5:30 the next morning ( and yes I am too old for that nonsense haha I did feel it the next day). They left about 11 so after they left I had to run to town and take some stuff to Joleen for her engagement pictures that they were going to do later in the afternoon.

When I got back from town we went to Montecillo to visit a friend in the hospital that broke his ankle and is going to have to have surgery on it. By the time we got home, it was starting to get dark so we hurried and picked what we could from the garden.

Just wondering if you have any new post to your 2019 deep pantry challenge. I love keeping up with it and it encourages me too. Hope to see new posts soon!

      Hi, Ma Kettle
I had gotten behind on them when I had to take that time off. I really didn’t think there was a lot interest in them so didn’t take the time to catch them up. I will get them caught up now. I will start with this weeks and work my way back. I will get started on it ASAP.
      Thank you for reading.
      Have a great day
